A statement accessory gives ...well uhm... "statement" to an outfit. Need I say more? Haha! Name me a real fashionista who doesn't own a statement piece. And I, being a fashionista wannabe, feels the urge of collecting more of these pieces. But wouldn't it be nice and fun to create your own accessory? And for that I'm going to share to you a tutorial for something statement you can do at home.
DIY Project: Floral Statement Bib Necklace.
Materials:
Scrap Fabric (I used white, dark gray and black), Chain with Lock (A jump ring as my lock wouldn't hurt), Pearl Beads (but if you're affluent enough, you can try real pearls), Scissors, Hot Glue. Optional: Needle and Thread.
Instructions:
Cut the fabric into strips.
Fold the strips on the sides to make them look good and to avoid future fraying. You can use glue to make sure they won't open up.
To make a "flower", Tie a knot at the end of a strip, and start winding the tail around the knot. Secure with hot glue. Tip: Twisting the strip while you're winding it will make your flower look more realistic.

Go ahead. Make a statement!
