D.I.Y. Project: Floral Bib Statement Necklace

A statement accessory gives ...well uhm... "statement" to an outfit. Need I say more? Haha! Name me a real fashionista who doesn't own a statement piece. And I, being a fashionista wannabe, feels the urge of collecting more of these pieces. But wouldn't it be nice and fun to create your own accessory? And for that I'm going to share to you a tutorial for something statement you can do at home.
DIY Project: Floral Statement Bib Necklace.
Materials:
Scrap Fabric (I used white, dark gray and black), Chain with Lock (A jump ring as my lock wouldn't hurt), Pearl Beads (but if you're affluent enough, you can try real pearls), ScissorsHot Glue. Optional: Needle and Thread.
Instructions:
Cut the fabric into strips.

Fold the strips on the sides to make them look good and to avoid future fraying. You can use glue to make sure they won't open up.

To make a "flower", Tie a knot at the end of a strip, and start winding the tail around the knot. Secure with hot glue. Tip: Twisting the strip while you're winding it will make your flower look more realistic.

Make more flowers until your desired number. You can make 100. (How big will that be?) I did 7 flowers.
Once you're done, glue the flowers together on the sides. The position of the flowers is all up to you. Then cut out a fabric with the shape of the joint flowers you've just created. this will serve as the back support. Glue the flowers over it.

Now its time to attatch the chain with hot glue. Make sure you put lots of glue on it. You don't want your necklace to be falling off while your walking.
Then glue or stitch (if you can) another cut-out fabric at the back to cover up that messy crime scene.
And for the finale, Add the pearl beads.
Done! So this is how it should look like:
I find this DIY necklace so unique that I wore it on Day 5 of the Philippine Fashion Week!

                                   Go ahead. Make a statement!
