Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012

Okay, so I had this crazy idea of going to the Philippine Fashion Week. My boyfriend (Daryll) was like "Whaaat?! There's no way we can get there. It's an invitation-only event! How the hell can we score invites?" But hard work really pays off... After three weeks of blood, sweat and tears, we eventually got seven invitations to Days 2, 5 and 6! Wanna know how we did it?

First, we stalked a few designers on facebook, then befriended them,
and finally asked them to send us invitations to the prestigious event! (ang kapal ng fez, 'no?) Hahaha! And no, we did not get VIP invites. Just the damn-plain for-you-average-people type of invites... Yes, Guest invites! And this is how some VIPs see these type of invitations:

But this is how we see them:

Why? Because Daryll and I don't even deserve a PFW invite! To us, getting involved in this kind of event is so much more than we expect. Some say getting to see the Pope take a shower is waaaay easier than getting invited to Fashion Week. But this is ultra-exaggeration of course. By using your charm plus a little bit of courage, you can get PFW invites, too. *wink*

                                               Our passes to PFW:

We, couple, received three invitations for Day 2, so we RSVP'd the excess invite to Runway Productions with the name of Daryll's cousin, Keyzl Fagarang. Good thing she was free that day, and so we felt happy that she was coming with us... The thought of what everyone else is gonna wear to the event really got us in excited anticipation, not to mention the fashion shows, which we would be watching.

Outfit: Orange 60's-Inspired Dress, Black Belt, Black Handbag, Open-toed Wedge Booties, Booby-pin Earrings, Bangles

I liked how designer Arnold Galang applied check-prints to his creations:

                              Indian-inspired clothing by Junjun Cambe:

RnB Prince Jay-R on the runway:

Keyzl and I with fashion designer and Lookbook icon, Mr. Andre Chang:

Two invites for Day 5 equals a special day for lovers! ^_^

Outfit: White Coat, Gray Top, Black Skort, Black Bag, Red Belt, Red Loafer Heels, Floral Bib Statement Necklace, Vintage Bangle

Day 6 was still a day for us two, and it was the most fun, as we were really rushing, thinking that we're minutes late for the show. But seriously, find me a local event that doesn't start on Filipino time. lol

Outfit: Brown Leather Jacket, Brown Heels, Blue Button-Down, Blue Clutch, Leggings, Pendant Necklace (And why does it always have to be crossed-legs with hand on the hip?)

Brown and black goes well together! The rule "Don't mix black with brown" our grannies were telling us is totally obsolete. Always remember that these colors are neutrals, and you just have to pick the right shade to make 'em work.

                                       Collection by Enrico Carado:

The 4PM Fashion Show for Day 6 was quite awe-inspiring as three of the models regained composure after each one of them stumbled and fell on the runway.

                                        Collection by Russel Villafuerte:

I got intrigued as to what they were portraying here... Were they Lady Gaga clones or aliens from Omicron Persei 8?

I love these white dresses by Jian Lasala. They can go with almost anything!

One of the most striking outfits I've seen on the show:

Overall, it was a very pleasurable experience! I just luuuv the feeling of exclusivity despite getting guest invites. This is truly a blessing for us, as not every one gets invited to Fashion Week. So, if you plan to be part of this prestigious event happening next on October, start befriending designers now! Happy stalking! What the ef.
